How to hook up a PS2 to a Direct tv box?

ummmm................. i need to know how to hook up a ps2 to a direct tv box b/c when i try i unhook the one from the box hen to this little smaller box that u need when u dont have certain things on a tv and then i plugged up the playstation 2 and it wont work can some one plz tell me how to hoook up a ps2 to a direct tv box plz
