History of the Former Yugoslavia?

Out of ALL the former Yugoslavian countries (macedonia, serbia, montenegro, croatia, bosnia, slovenia, and i guess kosovo even though it was part of serbia) which countries people were in the balkans the LONGEST? Or did they all arrive at the balkans at the same time? And also, where did they originate from? Someone on here said they came from the Carpathian Mountains.
