What should i doo?

i go out with a boy hes my mates cuzzy buh ive never autchully seen him and now some girl has been starting roumors about him but loads of people say the roumors are not true also this guy i have liked for ages dumped his girlfriend and he keeps smiling at me and talking to me but sometimes he blanks me and dosent talk to me what should i do stick with the boy i got now or go and ask the boy that has just become single out ??? help please
