My best friend?

Ok so here it is my bff and i are in somewhat of a fight. I took care of her made sure she was always ok and just treated her basically like my sister. Well weve gotten into a huge fight and now there are rumors in our social circle that i did all that stuff bc i liked her. now she starting to believe it or at least ask me about it. I say no u know were not like that and she says nothing back, but she keeps harping on the issue and says we'll never be close again. what are your thoughts and how should i handle this?
