Is it wrong when students do stuff like this to be ahead of others?

I don't really understand your first question, but for your second question, you could inform the new teacher or your guidance counselor about your teacher adding points to your final grade, but it may not fix the situation. Your new teacher does not need to follow the same policies of your previous teacher. Unless adding points to honor students grades is a school policy, your new teacher does not need to do it.
