How should I set up an aqarium for a Pond Slider Turtle who is 2 years old and about 9 inches long?

He belongs to my nephew. He needs to be transferred to a much larger aquarium. He loves to swim around in the water and he also loves to bask under the fluorescent lights on top of his rocks. He has outgrown his aquarium.
